My Organic Garden

This is the start of my spring garden! May 1st, 2019. I am 35 weeks pregnant and I have a green thumb. I love growing things from seeds. It makes me feel so creative and nurturing to bring these babies to life. It also helps when you have organic food in your own yard besides, organic vegetables are great for making the best and most healthy recipes ever! To stay updated on the progress of my garden growing and the wonderful recipes I create from the plants in the process, be sure to sign up to my blog so I can keep you posted!

Good morning, sunshine! Well, I don’t always wake up on the right side of the bed (THE BEAST), but when I do … you usually see me bright and fresh with my hair & makeup done nicely and a big smile on my face too. I’m not a beauty expert, but I know that beauty is more than what meets the eye. My beauty topics will include all things beauty, from product reviews and concerns, to how to carry myself & present myself to others. Also, how to love me, unconditionally. I look forward to our beautiful discussions on improving ourselves, inside & out!

Nothing is more important than family to me, therefore, I will be blogging a lot about my family and our adventures. My goal is to discuss all things family related. Topics will include real-life situations and some fun activities too. We don’t know each other well, yet … but WELCOME TO THE FAMILY! Please be sure to subscribe to my blog and visit often. My husband, six-year-old son, and my soon to be NEWBORN BABY are all very excited to share our adventures with you. My due date is on June 5th, 2019. Due dates can be somewhat unreliable, but we shall see. As I get closer to my labor day, I will keep you updated. I can’t wait to share my experience with you. Of course, I will also fill you in on some things I have been keeping quiet about these past 8 months.

    Through my lens …

Hello, colorful world! Today I wanted to discuss my passion for photography. Sometimes my photography transfers over into cinematography, obviously ..because I AM also a filmmaker. However, I just wanted to focus a little on the world of stills.

Here, I will share some of my favorite shots with you that I have taken over the past few years and new ones too. I am still growing and learning the technical side of things. My creative side is always exploring and taking risks. We live and learn and sometimes amazing things come to life when we do this.

Most of these images below were taken with a Canon T3i and a few with the Canon 5D Mark ii. The macros shots were actually done with a 50mm lens and I held it up backwards against my camera.

I have yet to purchase a nice macros lens, so I try this nifty little tricks. It just goes to show you what you can do without having all the equipment you really need or shall I say … WANT!

Now, in the case I have an amazing shot from my cell phone camera, I will be sharing that as well in future blog shares.

I plan to continue sharing these captures with you on my photographic journey … “Through My Lens.” I hope you enjoy them!

    Vegan Beet Salad

Simple & Easy! One of my favorite quick recipes.

This is a salad I make from my homemade garden. The lettuce and the beats I grew from seeds. But when I don’t have the garden growing, a quick stop at the grocery store does the trick. I just make sure I chose organic. All you have to do is grab the following: Spring Mix Lettuce, Beets & Italian Herb Croutons. For an extra treat and a shot of healthy, top it with sugared pecans and a scoop of Chia Seeds! Chose your dressing of choice, but I prefer a Rasberry Vinegarette and it hits the spot. If you want to lose weight, use sugar-free nuts and dressing. Choose something a little less sugary is always key in healthy eating, but man is this delicious! If you are not a vegan or vegetarian, top this with some GOAT CHEESE!
